“Know a world without harm!”

While the character’s ability is active anything present in his field is unable to have further harm inflicted on anyone/anything, freezing them in their current {physical state} but not freezing their {movement}.  It is considered a 5 meter radius force field; harmful energy will travel around the dome and sink into the ground harmlessly. Living/undead creatures can enter and leave as they please, though the user is at the centre – they will not be able to move very far or fast.

Disadvantages and limits as listed:

    -          If contested against an attack or stressful situation it will need a roll, it cannot be activated instantaneously in a fight or such.
    -          Movement of the user is slowed down when activated; he is to be considered fairly helpless and easily harassed.
    -          The field can only be up for a limited time, until a lapse of concentration kills it. Characters can attempt to interfere with this and break the field.

The ability is usually inherited from generation to generation by word of mouth between a master and pupil.

He is an individual who does not appreciate being told how to handle his own business, as such he rarely falters when this occurs and often tells people to mind their own business. He is very economical with his feelings, rarely touching others to greet them as he feels that a smile and a simple hello is all he needs to communicate a friendly greeting.

He is ever faithful, believing that a debt must be repaid for a favour even if it is not asked for. He can actually be very assertive and surprisingly forceful, though this is done through words rather than anything physically forceful as he believes that it is a job that is best left to the least eloquent of the population. Though he is a man who speaks up occasionally, he may sometimes go on long and confusing tirades if appropriately bothered, offended or intrigued, which may be shocking in contrast with his usual single sentence responses.

History:

It was in his thirty third year of life that he was struck by the disease of consumption – and despite his best efforts he succumbed to the disease at the age of thirty five and left behind much unfinished business. He was in the last year of his medical course, and had been attempting to find a way to extend the field of his ability but had made no progress – nor does he remember many of the things mentioned before this sentence.

Nowadays he works with children who have been orphaned, not remembering fully what kind of person he was in the past. He remembers the anglicised name that he has taken, the fact that he lives on a certain street and has a dog. When he picks up the papers that he has written at the past he can feel memories bubbling up under a filmy block in his mind, but they’re never quite able to get through. He sees his real name written down on papers and records, and wonders if that’s really who he used to be? But the faint accent that comes out with his words and the Baltic objects in the house have to be proof of that, right?

Likes: Fairy tales, rural homesteads, family, cute knitted hats, and dogs.

Dislikes: Being commanded around, feeling ignored, being incapacitated by illness, touching, messy people.
